What we collect, why, and how to delete it.

Plain English. No third-party advertising cookies, no retargeting pixels, no resale of your data — ever.

What we collect

  • Your email when you join the waitlist.
  • The page you signed up from (e.g., the hero form vs. the final CTA — used to understand which copy converts best).
  • UTM parameters from any ad or link you clicked to get here (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_term, utm_content). These tell us which channel you came from.
  • Standard analytics: pageviews, button clicks, scroll depth. Stored anonymously by PostHog with a single session cookie.
  • Your IP address, briefly, by PostHog and Netlify for spam protection. Not associated with your email.

What we don't collect

  • Your name, unless you give it to us in a reply.
  • Payment info — there's nothing to pay yet.
  • Anything from your phone or laptop beyond what your browser sends automatically.
  • Data from third-party trackers — we don't use Facebook Pixel, Google Ads conversion tracking, or any retargeting cookies.

How we use it

  • To email you when ReceiptHook opens for early access.
  • For occasional progress updates if we change something significant (pricing, timeline, scope).
  • For aggregate, non-identified analytics that inform what we build next.
  • That's it. Never sold. Never shared with advertisers. Never used for retargeting.

Where it lives

  • Waitlist emails: stored in Netlify Forms (US-based). Subprocessor: Netlify Privacy Policy.
  • Analytics events: stored in PostHog (US region). Subprocessor: PostHog Privacy Policy.
  • Both processors are GDPR-compliant for users in the EU/UK.

Your rights

  • Email hi@receipthook.com to delete your data — we'll wipe you from the waitlist and analytics within 7 days.
  • You can unsubscribe from any email we send you (one-click).
  • You can request a copy of everything we have on you, also via email.

Cookies

PostHog sets a single anonymous cookie used to distinguish visitors across sessions. No third-party advertising cookies. No retargeting pixels. No cross-site tracking.

Changes to this policy

If we change anything material, we'll email everyone on the waitlist with a plain-English summary at least 7 days before it takes effect. The version date at the top of this page always reflects the current version.
